Crowds get super excited when there's a big festival in time. Similarly, as the host, you are likely looking forward to wowing the crowd at the festival. But what happens when things go wrong?
For instance, what if the festival gets canceled because of bad weather or one of your employees gets hurt, or the fans at the event get rowdy and damage your property. If any of these were to happen, you want to ensure that you are protected with comprehensive festival insurance.
Festival event insurance is a specialty policy explicitly designed for the festival and its vendors and other service teams. Think of insurance for fairs and festivals as immediate protection when something goes wrong that will help you avoid paying out of pocket for any claims filed.

A festival liability insurance policy primarily sold as general liability coverage is designed to protect the policyholder against:
Third-party personal injuries - Accidents will happen in your festival and this will result in an attendee getting injured. If the person holds you responsible and demands payment, general liability insurance will take care of medical expenses
Third-party property damage - Not only injuries but property damage might be inflicted to third parties if accidents happen during your festival. This is why general liability insurance also reimburses the value of the damaged property of affected parties
Legal defense - General liability insurance for festivals also covers administrative costs, attorney fees, settlements, and other legal expenses on your behalf
Note that you can add optional policies to general liability insurance. What you can include varies from carrier to carrier. Nonetheless, common ones most policyholders add are:
Liquor liability insurance - Liquor liability insurance covers expenses if you’re selling alcohol and served drinks to minors or had guests very drunk resulting in injuries or property damage
Rented premises liability coverage - Rented premises liability coverage will cover expenses if your festival damaged the venue or facility. In practice, this takes care of reimbursements if the property owner files a claim
Festival public liability insurance functions the same way as general liability insurance. However, its scope is more limited. This is because you can’t add optional coverages to it. Consider getting public liability insurance if you think that the protection general liability insurance provides is too much for your festival.
Consider a situation where you have invested in a festival, and due to unforeseen circumstances, the event is canceled. Without festival cancellation insurance, you could end up losing your investment. This is where cancellation insurance kicks in. This will recoup non-refundable expenses on props, sound systems, and other materials or equipment.
Also, attendees will ask for refunds once your festival is canceled. And some insurers might offer festival ticket insurance coverage as part of their festival cancellation policy. This insurance for festival tickets will make the necessary refunds protecting you from having to pay out of pocket.
Workers' compensation insurance isn’t included in tailored insurance for festivals. But still, you should invest in this, especially if you’re planning to hire photographers, videographers, event planners, bartenders, DJs, electricians or electrical engineers, and other professionals as temporary employees. Workers' compensation insurance is useful because it will help pay for:
Medical expenses - If an accident happens during your event and an employee sustains an injury that needs medical attention, workers' compensation insurance will provide the money to pay for doctor fees and other costs
Hospitalization - After treatment, your festival’s employee might need to stay in the hospital to continue healing. In this situation, workers' compensation insurance ensures you and your employee’s peace of mind by covering the costs of hospital bills
Medication - Your employee will need meds to prevent a work-related injury from worsening. This is also covered by workers' compensation insurance. Particularly, the policy will provide the money your employee can use to buy needed medicines
Rehabilitation - Workers' compensation insurance will help if an employee needs rehabilitative care to fully recover from a work-related injury. It will pay for therapist fees, rehabilitation equipment, and other associated costs
Lost income compensation - Workers' compensation insurance will take care of your employee who can’t work due to a work-related injury. Help is provided by giving the employee a weekly allowance equal to two-thirds or 67% of the average weekly wage. Say for example, if your employee receives $588 per week, he or she will receive a $393.96 weekly allowance from workers' compensation insurance
Death benefits - Sometimes, accidents that happen during the preparation and commencement of a festival might not only result in employee injuries but death also. This is why workers' compensation insurance covers death benefits. The policy takes care of funeral expenses and gives cash aid to the deceased’s dependents
Volunteers aren’t considered part-time or full-time employees. And so, they can’t be covered by workers' compensation insurance.

Put simply, festival vendor insurance is a policy meant to provide coverage to festival vendors for claims and lawsuits that result in your business's participation in the event. This could include claims made by aggrieved parties against your business on foodborne diseases, property damage, or bodily injury.
In the event that the court rules in favor of the complainant, this insurance should sufficiently address the costs of your defense and compensation subject to your policy's limits.
Similarly, suppose one of your employees accidentally spills water on expensive equipment or breaks something, and the event manager files a claim against your business; Once your claim is approved, your festival vendor insurance provider steps in to help you pay for the damaged equipment and could be instrumental in helping you fight the claim in court.
As mentioned, an aggrieved party might file a claim against your business on foodborne diseases or other food-related mishaps. When you have food vendor insurance for festivals, the insurer pays for the complainant's medical and legal costs resulting from said food-related claim.
Music festivals are pretty popular, especially during the summer months. Revelers will be looking forward to spending their day listening to their favorite tunes live. While music festivals are a big opportunity and quite fun, there's no shortage of risks. These large-scale events could end up with property damage or bodily injuries, especially if alcohol is involved. This necessitates getting music festival event insurance. The latter is a policy curated to protect you against claims associated with the musical event.
Music festival insurance contains several coverage options, including general liability that covers a broad range of potential exposures including property damage, injury, medical costs, and damage to premises that you've rented out. Note that the general liability coverage for music festivals works slightly differently from the general liability coverage issued for different industries. Specifically, the general liability might come with some exclusion, including protection against assault and battery.
Suppose there will be alcohol at the music festival. In that case, your music festival insurance will include liquor liability to safeguard you and the business from potential risks.
Now, suppose you are using your own equipment at the music festival. In that case, your insurance provider could include equipment breakdown coverage as part of your policy.
Finally, suppose you use any motor vehicle to dispense your services. In that case, you want your music festival insurance to include commercial auto insurance.
Equipment breakdown insurance is a coverage for festival equipment that you own - speakers, lighting, stages, tents, etc. In a nutshell, when festival equipment becomes lost or damaged due to theft, fire, vandalism, and other covered perils, equipment breakdown insurance will recoup your investment or provide immediate replacements.
But what if you only rent festival equipment? Is there insurance you can use? Yes, there is - rental equipment insurance. If rented festival equipment becomes lost or damaged due to theft, fire, vandalism, or other covered perils, rental equipment insurance will reimburse the losses of the owner.
Commercial auto insurance is useful if you're using a vehicle to transport equipment, materials, goods, and personnel for your music festival. Here are its functions:
Auto liability coverage - Auto liability coverage will cover losses if your music festival’s vehicle causes an accident where third parties sustained injuries or had their property damaged. For personal injuries, auto liability coverage will cover medical expenses. For property damage, this will reimburse the losses of the owners. In addition, auto liability coverage covers legal expenses such as administrative costs, compensatory payments, and attorney fees.
MedPay/personal injury protection - MedPay and personal injury protection cover the driver and passengers of your music festival’s vehicle. If an accident happens, MedPay will take care of the driver and the passenger’s medical and funeral expenses. Personal injury protection provides the same protection also but additionally includes coverage for lost income compensation, rehabilitative care, after-hospital visits, and more
Goods/equipment in transit insurance - You’ll never know what might happen to equipment or goods that you're hauling for the music festival. That’s why it’s smart to get goods/equipment in transit insurance. This endorsement to commercial auto insurance will cover losses if goods and equipment become lost or damaged due to fire, theft, vandalism, and other covered perils during the trip
Attending and participating in an art festival as a vendor is not only a fun experience but can also be quite profitable. You get to see potential clients view your work and admire your skills. Unfortunately, festival venues aren't always risk-free. There is a chance that a customer could claim that they got injured while at your premises.
That's where art fair insurance comes in. It covers you against any mishaps that might occur during the art festival.
Carnival rides hold significant risk from riders falling off to equipment malfunctioning. To protect yourself, consider getting carnival ride insurance to enjoy stress-free festival days. Carnival ride insurance has the following inclusions:
General liability insurance
Equipment breakdown insurance
Event cancellation coverage
Workers compensation insurance
General liability insurance will cover expenses if a third-party sustained property damage or personal injuries because of a carnival ride accident and files a claim. This is very important because at least 29,000 injuries have been associated with carnival rides.
Carnival rides will eventually suffer defects. These are dangerous to guests if continued to be used. Immediate repair must be done. This is where equipment breakdown insurance comes in. If a carnival ride of yours becomes damaged, equipment breakdown insurance will cover its parts repair or replacement
There will be instances where a festival or any other special event such as a town party, or sports event that hired your carnival ride is canceled. Event cancellation coverage will help to recoup losses in this situation. Particularly, this will recover what you spent on the loading and transportation of your carnival rides.

Worst insurance comapny I have ever dealt with. A commercial vehicle represented by GUARD t boned my wife and daughters family vehicle in the middle of the day. Driver was cited and insurance claim insued. Fast forward 4 months and refusal of full amount of claim is still happening. Driver was found guilty, repairs started on my vehicle and when it comes to the final bill and diminished value we cannot get any help. I am out a family car, have an injured and traumatized wife and children, and now have to get legal and BBB involved for a company to do the RIGHT thing. Scott Lewis, Kevin Ware, Heather White, and Ryan P, lied about communcation on my claim, demonstrated Bias by overpromising and under delivering . They refused to pay the full amount owed and have associates untrained in vehicle condition assessment and reconditioning. Also, not one GUARD insurance representative has contacted my wife (the injured party) in 4 months to follow up on medical treatment. STAY AWAY IF YOU ARE SHOPPING INSURANCE!

Had general liability and workers comp with amguard. Paid high premiums and yet still got audited every year and had to pay more. Was able to prove less risk the first two audits and disputed price down but none the less had to pay more just so I could renew coverage. Third time the audit ( based on what I paid my premium on ) was ridiculous and tried to prove that there was no increase in risk from what I paid for my premium. However they would not believe it and required I paid full audit amount in order to have redline removed. Basically you do what they say and pay whatever outlandish bill they come up with or they will make sure you can’t run your business anymore. ????
