Boxing is a high-risk activity just like soccer and baseball, which means that accidents can still occur even with proper risk management and best practices. As such, you want to stay proactive by investing in boxing insurance either as a gym owner, boxing event organizer, or boxing instructor.
Boxing insurance is specialty insurance designed to protect the policyholder's financial assets and initial investments. Having this policy means that you are protected whilst carrying out any boxing-related activity.
You want to protect your investment on the leased, owned, or rented boxing gym. It’s also important to cover part-time and full-time employees. For such purposes, consider getting a boxing gym or boxing club insurance policy.
Boxing gym insurance offers different kinds of policies that grant protection against business property damage or loss, employee injuries, and other exposures. Let’s take a look at the most common inclusions of this insurance.

Commercial property insurance protects your boxing gym against fires, theft, vandalism, vehicles, aircrafts, and other exposures. Use the table above to compare features of commercial property insurance from companies we recommend.
This policy does the following when a covered perils happens:
Reimburse the value of the entire boxing gym if it’s completely destroyed
Reimburse the value of damaged structures and help you cover repair expenses if the gym only sustained damage
Commercial property insurance is underwritten as an actual cash value policy or replacement cost policy.
An actual cash value commercial property insurance reimburses the losses subject to the depreciated value of the boxing gym facility you own, rent, or lease.
On the other hand, a replacement cost commercial property insurance policy reimburses losses based on the original market price of the boxing gym.

Cover any accidents that happen on the premises of your boxing gym by purchasing general liability insurance. The table above compares the features of general liability insurance from the recommended companies.
General liability insurance for boxing gyms and hockey teams will cover the resulting expenses when:
Someone slips and falls
Trips over something
Gets injured by a defective boxing equipment
General liability insurance can help if your boxing gym unintentionally sells merchandise that has errors in design, labeling, or packaging. Moreover, this insurance comes with business equipment coverage that helps to replace or repair equipment that got damaged because of fire, theft, vandalism, operator error, and impact.
If you have full-time or part-time employees, then you should consider getting worker's compensation insurance. This policy covers the expenses in the event that one of your employees suffers a work-related injury.
This means that if an instructor gets injured while conducting a boxing class, the policy will cover the ambulance fees and emergency room fees. If they were to be hospitalized, then the policy would cover the bill while the employee was admitted to the hospital.
Further, the policy covers the medication or rehabilitation costs. Finally, the policy covers the income that the injured worker would have earned. This means that your employee would receive a weekly reimbursement equal to a percentage of the average weekly wage.

You can bundle your boxing gym’s commercial property and general liability insurance into a business owner’s policy. By doing this, you enjoy easier policy management and cheaper premiums. Moreover, you can avail add-ons such as business interruption insurance, cyber liability insurance, and more. Use the table above to compare the business owner’s policy for boxing gyms.

Consider this. A friend accompanies your student to the boxing club and decides to climb into the ring. While attempting to do so, they slip through the ropes and get caught, falling to the ground and ultimately breaking several ribs.
Further, consider this. You're putting on a small boxing show with the aim of drawing attention to your club. To market the upcoming event, you choose a logo for the new marketing material, but a competitor states that the logo was too similar to their own.
Both these scenarios represent situations in which you could be found liable as a boxing sports coach. To protect your vested interest, you want to purchase general liability insurance.
Use the table above to compare the quotes of general liability insurance for boxing instructors and coaches.
Exposures that’s usually included in the language of general liability insurance are:
Claims for bodily injuries
Claims for property damage
Claims for copyright infringement, slander, libel, and other related offenses
General liability insurance reimburses the medical expenses of the claimant, refunds the value of the claimant's property, and pays for attorney's fees, administrative costs, and other expenses if a lawsuit is filed.
Other than general liability insurance, you ought to invest in professional liability insurance for boxing instructors and coaches.
Consider this. One of your clients might sue you, citing that the boxing regimen you recommended didn't bring the desired results. Moreover, a client might decide to sue you because the program you recommended caused harm. A frivolous claim might also be filed when a client loses a match despite following your advice.
All of the above represent circumstances where a professional liability policy could come in handy. Also known as errors and omissions insurance, this will cover the legal fees, settlements, and court judgments if a claim is filed for negligence, inaccurate advice, breach of contract, and other related exposures.
Further, suppose you sell boxing programs or workout supplements at the gym. In this case, you want to purchase product liability insurance. If any of the products you sell cause harm to a third party, the product liability policy will cover the cost of a claim. It covers all attorney fees, administrative costs, and other legal expenses that might arise.
You ought to consider purchasing umbrella liability insurance for boxing. Some claims might cost more than what your general liability or professional liability policy will cover. To solve this problem, you should consider getting umbrella liability insurance. This policy supplements your professional liability or general liability insurance limits.

Use anyone except Employers. Period. They are non-transparent and shameful. After I complained long enough to warrant a call from a supervisor, the supervisor called back from a PRIVATE NUMBER (no caller ID), left a message that they are not reversing their decision (without any communication with me), and failed to leave a phone number for me to call back. She was hiding! They also fact find via email and phone calls, which is terrific for speed and communication. However, after setting a precedence of email or phone calls, they send time sensitive information via email, without any heads up... they are hoping you miss it and forfeit via expiration. Evil policies. Go elsewhere.
This place is an absolute joke of a company and should be ashamed of the way they conduct business. I was hurt on the job at the end of July and it took them just shy of 7 weeks to issue out a paycheck to me. Yes the amount was back dated but still. Not many have the luxury of not receiving a paycheck for almost 2 months. To top it all off, the original adjuster marked me down for the wrong state which caused a problem from the get go, I've had 3 different adjusters now since each one can't seem to figure out the simplicity of my claim. All my paperwork which includes, my job, house, and drs visits all are from the same state and city but yet some how I have been filed under a completely different state 1500 miles away. They do not answer your phone calls or emails no matter how many you leave. I've had to escalate my frustrations to the supervisors of each of these individuals in order to even get some kind of response. I've had more communication and information given to me about my claim from the customer service representatives then the actual adjusters.......... please tell me how that works?! A serious overhaul needs to happen here in order to serve your clients the way they deserve to be taken care of. 10/10 do not recommend this company to a single soul on earth
I have never had the displeasure of working with a more incompetent and disrespectful person in my life. I’m an injured worker and the adjuster that was assigned to my case was named Carrie Furgeson. In the past 6 weeks that I’ve been injured and out of work I have only been able to get ahold of her twice, not for lack of trying. I have left countless voicemails, countless emails, and she ignores them all. When I am finally able to get ahold of her I’m greeted with terrible customer service. She is rude, she talks over me and I’m hardly able to get a word in edgewise. She spelled my name wrong on my documents even after I spelled it for her properly countless times, this caused a whole new issue with my bank. I have bill collectors from the hospital calling me demanding payment and Carrie Furgeson won’t do a single thing to help, or to get them paid. All of my documentation is in Colorado, my job is in Colorado, my address is in Colorado, all my Dr offices and appointments have been in Colorado and Carrie still managed to hold my claim because she wasn’t sure what state she needed to file it under. It’s been 6 weeks since my Injury and my company still hasn’t received the wage paperwork to fill out so they can get me my correct wages. When she’s not ignoring me she’s answering my questions with “I don’t know” well I don’t know how she got this job, because apparently she doesn’t know anything about it. She is a disgusting morose individual inside and out and I genuinely wish her the worst in all of her future endeavors. I highly recommend you don’t use this company. Please if you are a business owner and your looking into this company please don’t use them. I’m sure they have the cheapest payment and that’s why companies use them in the first place, but you will be doing your employees a grave disservice by forcing them to venture into this absolute dumpster fire of a company. I would rate 0/5 if possible but 1 was the lowest I was allowed.
