An essential component of your jet ski rental insurance package is a general liability policy. Having this is very important as jet ski accidents are quite common.
Use the table above to compare the general liability insurance of companies we recommend.
This would cover you if someone were to be injured while on your rental jet ski. If they were to sue you and you were found to be at fault, the general liability insurance for jet ski rental would pay for the medical bills and any other costs that arise from the claim.
Here are a couple of scenarios where jet ski rental liability insurance would come in handy:
A jet ski you've rented to a customer malfunctions and crashes at boats docked near the beach
A jet ski customer loses control of the jet ski by going too fast and hits a swimmer resulting in a major injury

Property damage
Physical injury

Other than general liability insurance, consider getting professional indemnity insurance for jet ski rental business.
Professional indemnity insurance grants coverage in case clients file a claim for negligence, breach of contract, violation of fair dealing, etc. Here are some situations where this jet ski rental company insurance is useful:
A customer who's rented a jet ski claims molestation during instruction on how to use the jet ski
One of your employees fails to properly instruct the customer on how to operate the jet ski. The customer gripped the accelerator too hard, and this caused a whiplash that resulted in a minor neck injury
A customer complained that your business was overcharging for its rental services and demanded reimbursement
Use the table above to compare the professional indemnity insurance of companies we recommend for jet ski rental businesses.
Professional indemnity insurance is available as an occurrence or claims-made policy. We suggest going for the occurence variety because it provides coverage during and after the policy duration expires.
Some jet ski rental businesses leverage a mobile app or website to market their services, schedule rentals, and collect payments from customers. If this applies to you, consider getting cyber liability insurance.
A data breach can happen anytime. And as a result, the information of customers you collected might end up in the hands of cybercriminals and be used for malicious purposes.
Cyber liability insurance helps to solve the resulting problems in such a situation. It takes care of the extra expenses for:
Data breach containment
Customer notification
Data recovery
Legal defense costs if affected customers file a claim
Business interruption
It’s easy to get cyber liability insurance for your jet ski rental business. Insurance companies allow you to get this as a stand-alone policy or as an optional coverage to general liability insurance.
Just like with any other watercraft, jet skis can cause oil spillage. Your business might be required to cover the expenses needed for reversing the resulting damage to the environment and wildlife.
You can avoid paying for the costs yourself by buying environmental pollution liability insurance. The coverage of this liability insurance for jet ski rental takes effect when your jet ski causes an oil spill due to:
Engine defects
Accidents
Sinking
Operator error

A jet ski rental business is one of those businesses that’s impossible to operate without a physical space. That said, you need a dedicated building, a rented commercial space, or a small open lot with a small office space for smooth operations.
Commercial property insurance allows you to cover any physical space that your jet ski rental business operates. This jet ski and waverunner rental insurance will take care of financial losses if the physical space gets damaged or destroyed because of:
Fire
Theft
Vandalism
Lightning
Weather
Malicious mischief
Sinkhole collapse
Aircraft
Falling objects
Vehicle
Impact
Volcanic action
Aside from your jet ski rental’s physical space, commercial property insurance also takes care of valuable papers and records, furniture, jet ski replacement parts, the jet skis, cash registers, computers, signage, and other precious items.
However, understand that coverage only applies if something happens while such items are within the premises of your jet ski rental business.
Use the table above to compare the commercial property insurance of companies we recommend for jet ski rental business.

A business owner’s policy combines general liability and commercial property insurance. That said, this is the only type of commercial jet ski rental insurance that grants protection against legal liabilities and commercial losses at the same time.
Some insurance companies offer a business owner’s policy automatically the moment you request for general liability and commercial property insurance quote. Others, on the flip side, leave it up to you to decide whether or not to bundle general liability and commercial property insurance into a business owner’s policy.
The premiums for a business owner’s policy are way cheaper than when you buy commercial property and general liability insurance separately as stand-alone policies. Moreover, it might have add-ons such as business interruption insurance, cyber liability insurance, non-owned/hired auto liability coverage, and more.
Use the table above to compare the business owner’s policy of companies we recommend for jet ski rental businesses.
Inland marine insurance is important if you deliver your jet skis to renters. In case your jet ski gets damaged or lost during travel because of errors, theft, vandalism, or an accident, inland marine insurance will provide reimbursements for the resulting financial losses.
The amount of reimbursement you get from commercial property insurance will be based on the actual cash value or replacement cost of the covered jet skis. By the way, inland marine insurance is best purchased as an add-on to commercial property insurance or business owner’s policy.

Use anyone except Employers. Period. They are non-transparent and shameful. After I complained long enough to warrant a call from a supervisor, the supervisor called back from a PRIVATE NUMBER (no caller ID), left a message that they are not reversing their decision (without any communication with me), and failed to leave a phone number for me to call back. She was hiding! They also fact find via email and phone calls, which is terrific for speed and communication. However, after setting a precedence of email or phone calls, they send time sensitive information via email, without any heads up... they are hoping you miss it and forfeit via expiration. Evil policies. Go elsewhere.
This place is an absolute joke of a company and should be ashamed of the way they conduct business. I was hurt on the job at the end of July and it took them just shy of 7 weeks to issue out a paycheck to me. Yes the amount was back dated but still. Not many have the luxury of not receiving a paycheck for almost 2 months. To top it all off, the original adjuster marked me down for the wrong state which caused a problem from the get go, I've had 3 different adjusters now since each one can't seem to figure out the simplicity of my claim. All my paperwork which includes, my job, house, and drs visits all are from the same state and city but yet some how I have been filed under a completely different state 1500 miles away. They do not answer your phone calls or emails no matter how many you leave. I've had to escalate my frustrations to the supervisors of each of these individuals in order to even get some kind of response. I've had more communication and information given to me about my claim from the customer service representatives then the actual adjusters.......... please tell me how that works?! A serious overhaul needs to happen here in order to serve your clients the way they deserve to be taken care of. 10/10 do not recommend this company to a single soul on earth
I have never had the displeasure of working with a more incompetent and disrespectful person in my life. I’m an injured worker and the adjuster that was assigned to my case was named Carrie Furgeson. In the past 6 weeks that I’ve been injured and out of work I have only been able to get ahold of her twice, not for lack of trying. I have left countless voicemails, countless emails, and she ignores them all. When I am finally able to get ahold of her I’m greeted with terrible customer service. She is rude, she talks over me and I’m hardly able to get a word in edgewise. She spelled my name wrong on my documents even after I spelled it for her properly countless times, this caused a whole new issue with my bank. I have bill collectors from the hospital calling me demanding payment and Carrie Furgeson won’t do a single thing to help, or to get them paid. All of my documentation is in Colorado, my job is in Colorado, my address is in Colorado, all my Dr offices and appointments have been in Colorado and Carrie still managed to hold my claim because she wasn’t sure what state she needed to file it under. It’s been 6 weeks since my Injury and my company still hasn’t received the wage paperwork to fill out so they can get me my correct wages. When she’s not ignoring me she’s answering my questions with “I don’t know” well I don’t know how she got this job, because apparently she doesn’t know anything about it. She is a disgusting morose individual inside and out and I genuinely wish her the worst in all of her future endeavors. I highly recommend you don’t use this company. Please if you are a business owner and your looking into this company please don’t use them. I’m sure they have the cheapest payment and that’s why companies use them in the first place, but you will be doing your employees a grave disservice by forcing them to venture into this absolute dumpster fire of a company. I would rate 0/5 if possible but 1 was the lowest I was allowed.
