I just had an appalling experience trying to cancel my Mom's AAA insurance after she developed dementia and stopped driving. They threw up every barrier to what should have been a simple process, and even refused to accept my Power of Attorney documents electronically. The representative was extremely rude and copped an attitude. I think they refuse to close accounts so they can keep fraudulently charging non-driving seniors. This is a crooked company, and nobody should do business with them.

I have dealt with many auto insurance companies in my life time but none as deceitful as AAA!! I signed up with a AAA insurance agent back in March. The premium I was would be $138/month-(all good). The agent told me I had to pay 4 months in advance so I gave my credit card to pay for the 4 months including the current month. One month later I received my monthly invoice for payment. The amount due had jumped from $138 (monthly) to $276. I called AAA and they said this was because of an accident that occurred 5 months prior where the other driver was at fault, though the case was still had yet to be closed. AAA would not accept the quoted premium of $138/month. So I shopped for a new insurance policy. A division of Farmers Insurance (Toggle) sold me their auto policy which was superior to AAA at $118/month with only $500 deductible. I canceled AAA and jumped onto the Farmers policy. I contacted AAA to cancel the policy and requested the 3 months paid in advance be reimbursed to me. I was told that I would not be reimbursed and in fact I was still responsible for the premium payment of $276 - that this payment would not be forgiven. I have since filed a claim with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and if this fails I will take AAA to small claims court. Prior to this experience I respected the AAA name. I've learned that this company is simply TOO BIG and feel they can take advantage of their customers at will. I have since canceled EVERYTHING AAA (roadside service and an insurance policy). This big business corporation is NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!!

THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY IN THE WORLD. Had the for 5 years, cost doubled neve had a claim of ticket, no service dept. They keep changing my policy without my approval. AND paid payment on line. They took a extra $4000 . Took a year to get them to admit there wrong. Customer service is like talking to 4 year old. I wouldn't trust this company with a dime. Now have a good HONEST company thats $489 cheaper on my auto policy alone. NEVER trust aaa..

AAA is only good if you never have to use them. My daughter was borrowing my car and got hit by a hit-and-run driver who left the scene. AAA would not pay for damages on my car because she was not on the policy and I didn't have full coverage on my car I did have uninsured motorists but they still would not pay the claim so I have a wrecked car and now AAA is canceling my insurance What a waste of time and money. We reported to insurance board and still nothing was done. I'm going back to allstate, atleast they pay claims.

The worst insurance company ever!! They are screwing us over tour car repairs, after one of their customers almost killed my fiancee and my daughter in a head collision. I had to chase them around with phone calls and emails for DAYS before they would even try and help us out with a rental. Their agent and supervisor would not even once return out messages. I finally contacted customer service. “Jared” was super narcissistic. Talked to use as if we below him and tried to tell me we have to use a body shop of their choice.. Texas State law says that you can have your car repaired wherever you choose! The guy straight up lied to our faces. Great professionalism and values. Do not go with AAA!!!

Someone recommended AAA to me. I bundled all my insurance, thinking I was good to go. Big mistake. First, they did not schedule a photoshoot for the house - they forgot to! They called to say that there was still enough time and sent someone within a week. Once again, I thought I was good to go. I got a cancelation for my homeowners insurance which made me lose my bundle package price, so my auto insurance went up high! I called them and they said that they never received my home photos, so they had to cancel the policy. After a while and a bunch of phone calls, they say it was fixed. To my utter shock and surprise, I got another letter of payment due on the car insurance, because of the cancelation. Again, the run around and multiple phone calls… Again they said it was handled. If this was not enough, I was receiving letters from different institutions I had loans with, that my insurance was expired. Then, another letter saying that the original quote that I got and paid for was not valid and the I had to come up with more money. I tried to call their office and talk to the person who wrote the quote. I left them multiple messages but no one ever bothered to call me back. After about a week I called the manager in their office at Camarillo and again left multiple messages on his phone. Again - no response… Finally after more phone calls, his assistant put me through. I tried to explain the situation and his response was that he gets many phone calls and messages and can’t respond to all of the.. I told him this is pretty much the basics of customer service. I asked to cancel my policy and he helped me with it. How ironic that the best customer service I received from AAA was when I wanted out. Of course, the story didn’t end there.. Finally I received my refund checks in the mail from all the insurance policies minus a fee for having insurance with AAA and canceling less than a year. I called them AGAIN and told them that no one, not even the General Manager or salesperson ever mentioned this fee. I feel that this was their responsibility especially since my reason for canceling was they didn’t want to honour their original price quote. I filed a complain with the State Insurance Commission. I have been in public service for 40 years and have never seen such poor customer service. Think five time before buying an AAA insurance. They are terrible!

I experienced a flat tire on route 43. I called AAA and the customer service rep instructed me to call the emergency roadside service, since I was on the toll road. And this was after me telling her I am NOT on the toll road. She transferred me to a recording. She eventually ended up hanging up on my call. I then picked up the phone and called once more and had the exact same experience! I called the PA toll road but it was Veterans Day and they were off. I then called the police and the officer got a local to come and help me. I have been with AAA for 12 years now and I am surely switching to another company. Their customer service representatives are very unprofessional and I don’t even know who to report it to!

I got an ad in the mail to get an insurance quote and receive a gift card for Target. I got the quote but never received any gift card. I tried to call many times and always got switched around and got different answers from different people. I waited about a month and still, no gift card arrived. All this trouble for a gift card that they promised to send over… Imagine what it would be like to actually file a claim with AAA.. I do not trust them or recommend their services to anyone. There are plenty of other insurance companies on the market. Go find one that you can trust!

I was involved in a hit-and-run when the other driver fled from the accident scene. AAA said at first that I cannot file uninsured motorist bodily injury. Then they called to say my car was totalled but never sent the report from the car shop. Instead, they just sent an assessment report of the damage. I called 3 car dealers they compared my car with, but none had the same car as mine.. They called me again for the offer and said they want the rental car back the following day. I requested an extension but they claimed it’s a strict policy and once they make an offer, they can’t extend the rental!!! Very very bad experience with AAA… Keep away from them! They are good for taking your money but when it comes to taking care of their customers - forget about it!

Recently my car got reared. AAA claims rep said she placed a note with the hitting driver’s insurance company. Two months later, no one got in touch. Only then did I find out that because of Basic Coverage (liability only) the claims rep refused to help me out. Turns out that basic coverage actually helped the hitting driver, and not me - the actual AAA insurance company’s customer!… I was very disappointed because my claims rep wants to help the other party and not me when the accident was not my fault.

When I filed a claim with AAA, I experienced a 16 minutes waiting time, after calling a different number I waited for even 10 minutes longer, ended up calling the emergency services and waited for 8 minutes to speak to their rep. They said a locksmith will come by to unlock the door within an hour. After two hours I called them again and found out that the claim was canceled by them and no locksmith is even coming to the rescue… This got me extremely angry and disappointed. I eventually paid out $50 for a locksmith to unlock my door from my own pocket. I will definitely not renew my AAA car insurance policy next year. Their customer service is just BAD. Thank you, AAA for wasting my time and money!!!

I signed up for AAA lately thanks to their affordable rates. Having an existing car insurance policy, I changed the company once the premium was fully paid for. They charged me the full amount without a warning or a notice… Their adjuster just kept saying that once the payment is initiated, there’s nothing that can be done to adjust. I made the change 15 days prior to that and their system cannot make the right adjustments?? Completely doesn't make sense for a company of their size! Quite scary to be at the mercy of a system that can’t change adjustments. I am super disappointed from AAA.

I have been with AAA for over a decade for home insurance and 3 vehicles. Never experienced any issue until I got into a car accident and had my car totalled. I have full coverage on all 3 cars, I immediately provided AAA with all the required paperwork.. It has been over 3 months now and they have yet to pay off my car. They have my title and the vehicle in possession but still never paid it off. It doesn’t matter who I talk to and complain - nothing gets done! I have to keep paying on the loan and I had to replace the car. So now I have 2 car payments. I feel what they have done is criminal.

We recently signed with AAA. All the reviews we read were great and positive. That was not our experience. Our car got hit by another driver and the claim process has been an absolute nightmare. Only towing took them two whole days! Every time we called them they were too busy and told us to try again the next day… Calling to file the claim we talked to an agent for at least 30 minutes, providing all the information needed. Then the claims rep called us again and didn’t have that info, so we had to provide it again. After we finally got our car towed to the car shop, we were told that the adjuster will come to the repair shop. Then they said that our car got towed to a different shop, never stating who is going to pick it up, when or where to! We had to call multiple people and ask all these questions. Every rep just forwarded our call to the manager, but they never pick up their phones or reply to emails. Days later they told us that our car was towed to their choice of repair shop. We called AAA to inquire and they insisted they had our car… They obviously had no knowledge of our car location. It has been over two weeks now and we still have no car to use and no progress on the claim. Our phone calls are being ignored. Even talking to management did not make any difference. At this point we are filing a complaint with the division of Insurance. I don't understand the positive reviews. For us, this has been the worst experience. I think dealing with insurance is worse than the accident.

I had three insurance policies with AAA and cancelled all of them because of poor customer service. When it was time for renewal AAA canceled one the policies because of a person the did not to insure. They billed me anyways and sent to to collector agency, even tho they have canceled my policy!!! For a company that relies on memberships, they really need to check their business ethics.

Brilliant customer service at AAA. My girlfriend had to have her old car towed to a car shop nearby. AAA rep was super pleasant and said her car can be towed and she made it to the car location to get it towed when they showed up. The agent was very helpful when we were waiting there with the car. Sup approved the tow and it was done very fast thanks to AAA! My girlfriend has been with AAA for over 11 years now and we are very happy!

My wife got hit by another driver with AAA insurance. Dealing with them was simply delightful. It didn't take much time for us to get paid back while being offered a rental. They paid us the value of the damaged car, and got a hold of their client who hit us as well. Nice management of the situation!

Worst insurance company ever! They never send the bill. They cut your insurance policy without letting you know even tho you pay…. Very disappointing customer service. Their prices are super high also. When they sent a cancellation notice and I called to actually cancel myself, after switching to a different provider, they suddenly remember that they owe me $550 for refund check. Said it’d take 4-5 weeks. I did get it after 4 days tho. Every time I called they were not able to find my account information. They called and harassed my family and kept sending them letters addressed to me with their names on it… Total incompetence. I wouldn't recommend AAA insurance to my worst enemy.

I changed to AAA after my Safeco policy was to be renewed. I asked to add my husband to my home insurance policy. I got way cheaper car insurance which I bundled with home and got further discount. The coverage is great and so is the service and perks. Highly recommended!

My vehicle got hit in an accident. AAA adjuster sent me to a body store for an estimate. They only returned to me after 7 days. When I called the adjuster to report the issue, he thought I didn’t take the car and became extremely impatient and unpleasant. He spoke as if AAA was doing me a favour and not like I am paying insured customer... I asked to take my car to another shop, as I felt like I could not trust them anymore. Their representative didn’t like that. I hope that AAA management will do what it takes to significantly improve their customer service.

I have been 15 years insured with Automobile Club of Southern California. Their price is really great. In time of emergency you can just call their 24/7 service and get instant assistance. They help you get your car towed to either your home or the car shop if you can’t drive it. They process your claim quickly too. My car got hit sitting in a red light. I was not required to pay deductible and they kept me updated on the claim process. They have a class called Drive Sharp on the computer for elderly drivers. When you complete it you get a 4% discount on it. You also get a discount for parking in a garage, multi policies and good driving record. I can also get my tag there any any other DMV services. Love this company.

Before using AAA I was working with State Farm and Progressive thanks to similar policies. The quote I received from them was annual, much cheaper and haven't changed. Now, using AAA with the exact same car, no accidents, claims or traffic violations. Receiving member discounts and very happy about it!

It was a nice surprise to realize that AAA now provides auto insurance on top of road assistance. Their car insurance rates are much cheaper than the competition. Was also given road service and auto insurance bundle discount.

AAA insurance is more affordable than their competitors. I had auto insurance with Liberty Mutual for 11 years and they raised they premium every year without any claims filed on my end. Prior to that I had Allstate auto insurance for more than 31 years. AAA's Auto Insurance customer service is simply incredible.

My experience with Triple A was excellent. Claim filing and processing is very smooth and customer service is great. The claim was settled very fast and I could easily buy a new vehicle several weeks later. Another advantage of AAA is their effort to to match premiums rates, plans and discounts with your budget!
