I recently got travel insurance with AIG. My place of work then had to make schedule changes and AIG denied my claim, saying they can’t cover the claim unless I was involved in an accident, death or other idiotic excuses. 100% sure they are scammers. When traveling use another company because AIG will drag you along for month with little to no contact.
Has a bag stolen, while traveling. I filed for the maximum value, since the total cost was more than that. AIG wanted the police report and "original receipts" for all lost items. I provided the police report. AIG then required me to file a claim with my homeowners' insurance, and said they would pay for any unpaid portion. To my surprise, my homeowners' insurance paid for my claim (filed, processed and paid in 1 day), minus a$500 deductible. I submitted everything to AIG and they got back to... Read More

One of the irresponsible company. Do not care about their customer. Customer service representatives are so rude and not very good communicator, Do not understand the customer needs. I have been working on my claims form last 3 months none of them are responding to my calls or Emails. Crooks, to put it quite simply. We took out a policy with AIG through the jetstar website for a trip to NZ. Flights back home were delayed out of NZ to Melbourne and then again from Melbourne to QLD. 2 days of BS and being messed around by jetstar already destroyed our first family holiday in 3 years but then we get thee added BS from aig! Filled a claim when we got home, got an email back saying it this matter would be addressed within 10 days. 13 emails, 7 phone calls (hours involved here)... Read More
The travel insurance is absolutely useless. My luggage was lost when I reached my destination on international travel. I submitted the lost luggage forms the airline provided immediately. Got the automated "we handle all claims in order received, typically within 10-15 business days." It's now pushing two months and my claim status hasn't changed since the day I submitted it. Even after multiple contacts with customer service. AIG did absolutely nothing. Still is doing nothing. I had to replace... Read More
Please DONOT buy insurance from this company especially travel insurance. They never cover anything when it is time to claim even if the case is emergency. They do not follow what is written on the policy. You will only waste your money and time. They will give a lot of reasons so they can reject your claim. Be careful, this is fraud.

This is the most inhumane insurance company I have ever come across. I am now over $15000 in debt to a Greek hospital after suffering a severe car accident. I have a puncture lung and a hematoma the size of a water melon on my hip. I cannot walk and I have had to pay the hospital $8000 not including the car company and all the hotels that are not refunding me for the time I’ve spent in the hospital. Worst insurance company. Bought insurance for a concert that says cancel for any reason. Thr show iwas rescheduled for one month later for a time I have a booked flight one year ago and can not travel back to the show, they refused to pay me. I had travel insurance with AIG and had to go through an operation on my trip. After I sent them all the medical documents and paperwork, without any pre-existing condition, these people cheated me! After I had to cancel my non-refundable flight, these fraudsters said they won’t help cover it. Now I’m searching for lawyers to fight them back!

I was going to Mexico and bought travel insurance with AIG. Unexpectedly, I had to make changes in my flight arrangement so I filed a claim. AIG refused to refund me and denied my claim, saying that my reasoning for the claim was not, in fact, covered… What is the point of getting travel insurance if you end up losing the money anyways?? AIG insurance are scammers! I was traveling from Italy to Germany and my baby got sick for a day. Nothing serious enough to take him to the hospital or a doctor. Worst Insurance Experience Ever! So Bad i would say its criminal. Never ever book a Travel Insurance with AIG! I had insurance on a Rental car booked with Expedia, had a car accident, the police determined it wasnt my faul. 1.) I experienced a stroke while visiting my family in Europe. Got evacuated to the hospital in early January 2020. My family got in touch with Allianz to activate the insurance and they took it from there. They covered 90% of the hospital bill! However there's more.. Medical issues of both me and my husband made me use their insurance plan, since on our age, 70+, it comes and goes. We were very positively surprised to find out about their travel disruption. The process is very smooth, FAST and simple. We got a refund extremely fast. Our planned anniversary holiday was cancelled but Allianz was there for us and we are very grateful for that.
