Sole proprietors or self-employed individuals–If you use a vehicle for business purposes like visiting clients, delivering goods, or transporting stuff, you should consider commercial auto insurance even if you're self-employed.
Business owners with employee-driven automobiles–Using vehicles for business requires commercial auto insurance. This category comprises companies with a fleet of vehicles for sales, servicing, and product delivery.

By exhibiting ethical and responsible company practices, insurance also helps build customer, partner, and stakeholder trust. Iowa auto accident statistics remind us that accidents can happen unexpectedly and have serious consequences. Having enough insurance protects your finances and encourages smart driving and accountability. Individuals and businesses need Iowa Commercial Auto Insurance to protect themselves, their property, and other drivers.
In Iowa, all automobiles must carry a minimum quantity of auto liability insurance, whether used for personal or business purposes. These are the minimum levels of liability:
Per-person bodily injury liability of $20,000
Bodily injury liability per accident of $40,000
$15,000 in property damage liability per accident
Insurance companies may recommend greater liability coverage limits based on your vehicle's kind and uses. Your insurance company considers many things to ensure you have enough coverage for an accident or car damage. Higher liability coverage limits protect you and your assets from unforeseen events. Discuss your coverage needs with your insurance representative.
Various factors, such as the type of vehicle and how it is operated, and additional liability coverage requirements may apply to semi-trucks, tractor-trailers, and other vehicles with an Iowa Department of Transportation serial number.
Liability coverage–It is an essential part of commercial auto insurance. It provides coverage in the event that your business vehicle is involved in an accident that results in property damage or grievous harm to others. This coverage contributes to the payment of the injured party's medical expenses, property restorations, and legal fees if they file a lawsuit.
Property damage coverage–It specifically addresses damages caused by your business vehicle to the property of a third party, such as other vehicles, buildings, or structures. It helps cover the cost of repairing or replacing the damaged property.
Bodily injury coverage–It pays for medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and potential legal fees if someone is injured in an accident involving your commercial vehicle. It helps safeguard your company against potential litigation arising from bodily injury claims.
Personal injury protection–Commercial auto insurance policies in Iowa must include personal injury protection coverage. PIP coverage pays for medical expenses, lost wages, and other costs associated with injuries you or your passengers sustain, regardless of who was at fault.
Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage–It is intended to secure your business if one of your vehicles is involved in an accident caused by a driver without adequate insurance coverage. It helps to cover your medical expenses, property damage, and other losses.
Collision coverage–Helps pay for repairs or replacement of your commercial vehicle if it is damaged in an accident, regardless of who is at fault. This coverage is essential if you own or lease the vehicles used for business purposes.
Comprehensive coverage–It protects your business vehicles against damage or loss resulting from incidents other than collisions. Theft, vandalism, fire, natural calamities, and other covered perils are included. It provides financial assistance for vehicle restoration or replacement.
Medical payments coverage–Medical payments coverage reimburses you or your passengers for medical expenses incurred as a result of an accident, regardless of who is at fault. It is especially crucial if your business transports customers or clients.
Roadside assistance–Including roadside assistance coverage in your commercial auto insurance policy can provide invaluable assistance in the event of a vehicle failure, flat tire, or another roadside emergency. It could help reduce downtime and keep your business operating efficiently.
Hired auto coverage–This covers the cost of accidents caused by rented or leased commercial vehicles
Rental reimbursement coverage–If your business vehicle is temporarily out of service due to an accident, this coverage reimburses you for the cost of a rental vehicle

This place is an absolute joke of a company and should be ashamed of the way they conduct business. I was hurt on the job at the end of July and it took them just shy of 7 weeks to issue out a paycheck to me. Yes the amount was back dated but still. Not many have the luxury of not receiving a paycheck for almost 2 months. To top it all off, the original adjuster marked me down for the wrong state which caused a problem from the get go, I've had 3 different adjusters now since each one can't seem to figure out the simplicity of my claim. All my paperwork which includes, my job, house, and drs visits all are from the same state and city but yet some how I have been filed under a completely different state 1500 miles away. They do not answer your phone calls or emails no matter how many you leave. I've had to escalate my frustrations to the supervisors of each of these individuals in order to even get some kind of response. I've had more communication and information given to me about my claim from the customer service representatives then the actual adjusters.......... please tell me how that works?! A serious overhaul needs to happen here in order to serve your clients the way they deserve to be taken care of. 10/10 do not recommend this company to a single soul on earth
I have never had the displeasure of working with a more incompetent and disrespectful person in my life. I’m an injured worker and the adjuster that was assigned to my case was named Carrie Furgeson. In the past 6 weeks that I’ve been injured and out of work I have only been able to get ahold of her twice, not for lack of trying. I have left countless voicemails, countless emails, and she ignores them all. When I am finally able to get ahold of her I’m greeted with terrible customer service. She is rude, she talks over me and I’m hardly able to get a word in edgewise. She spelled my name wrong on my documents even after I spelled it for her properly countless times, this caused a whole new issue with my bank. I have bill collectors from the hospital calling me demanding payment and Carrie Furgeson won’t do a single thing to help, or to get them paid. All of my documentation is in Colorado, my job is in Colorado, my address is in Colorado, all my Dr offices and appointments have been in Colorado and Carrie still managed to hold my claim because she wasn’t sure what state she needed to file it under. It’s been 6 weeks since my Injury and my company still hasn’t received the wage paperwork to fill out so they can get me my correct wages. When she’s not ignoring me she’s answering my questions with “I don’t know” well I don’t know how she got this job, because apparently she doesn’t know anything about it. She is a disgusting morose individual inside and out and I genuinely wish her the worst in all of her future endeavors. I highly recommend you don’t use this company. Please if you are a business owner and your looking into this company please don’t use them. I’m sure they have the cheapest payment and that’s why companies use them in the first place, but you will be doing your employees a grave disservice by forcing them to venture into this absolute dumpster fire of a company. I would rate 0/5 if possible but 1 was the lowest I was allowed.
