They deserve no stars. I caution everyone to read their policy. They added a page in the back that we did not discuss that changed my deductible from 2% of the damages to 2% of my coverage amount. Meaning when my roof was damaged in a tornado they made my deductible $8100 instead 1000. They are despicable and I am suing.

Worst company ever. Bad customer service. I canceled my homeowners insurance policy and they kept righting new ones. They never canceled my insurance with my mortgage company and they kept taking money. I had to fight this for a year and still waiting for a refund. They are thieves and criminals. Stay away!!!

Hands down this company and the staff has been a God send.. especially Patrick Nelson . If I could hug him I would give him the biggest bear hug. We had an electrical fire in our kitchen . I was so scared . For my kids and dogs safety .. the smell was horrible , the police and fire came to my rescue . But the real hero is Patrick NElson he’s been a driving force with helping my family along . He’s has so much patience , and he’s a great listener . I’m only at the first stances of this process but I know I won’t be disappointed .

Please stay away from Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies. They will charge you a short rate rather than an industry standard pro-rata rate if you decide to cancel their policy and switch to a better insurance provider! They do not even care about BBB complaint. They never respond through their claim and customer services email. I wish someone else had shared this experience before and never dealt with the GUARD in the first place. Of course, never ever again with them.

Wow, just like just about everyone else here...extremely disappointed with this company. I have found them to be in violation of many laws for doing business in my state(Calif) according to my investigation at the California Insurance Commision. I dropped by today at their request to furnish them with with documentation for my case. These people are as crooked as they can get away with. They aren't stupid, and they know how to throw threats around. They prey on good folks who are ignorant of their rights, and don't know what the insurance regulatory agency expects of Insurance companies in each state. I challenged them to not pay, to not extend the rental, to deny repairs. Then I let them know what my regulatory commision says they must do. More than likely my case will end up in trail. My attorney is a rock-star! A trail attorney, so bring it on! The day after we receive payment for medical and attorneys, the case will be investigated and processed by the Insurance Commisioners Office.

Just a follow up, this company is consistent if nothing else. Meaning they consistently refuse to live up to thier obligations. I get it that there is more profit to be made when you collect from your customers but neglect taking care of your obligations, but morally what they are doing is completely wrong. I have done exactly what was asked from my employer and doctor. I fell from a ladder and fractured my spine in 7 places, my clavicle in 4 places and my skull. This so called company has placed holds on my medication, held up equipment that was doctor prescribed, consistently late on paying benefits, and I've had to come out of pocket money. One excuse after another. They did message me off my previous post starting they would look into it but nothing has become of it. I ask why would anyone sign up for this insurance if they cannot take care of thier existing clients? They agreed to insure employees who were injured or hurt at work, and it's those that they are talking advantage of. This is wrong on so many levels and I wouldn't recommend them at any price.

My employer had to have workers compensation by law. He obtained a policy through this Berkshire Hathaway GUARD and they failed me. I fell from a ladder and fractured my spine in 7 different places, my clavicle in 4 places, and the base of my skull. Going to my Dr visits I was prescribed medication for pain and the insurance company placed a pre-authorization hold on me picking up the medication from Walgreens. The hold lasted 5 days! My weekly benefits have never been on time, right now they are 2 checks behind and the last one was almost $200 short. This company does not care about taking care of their obligations or responsibilities, they have shown that they are only interested in collecting for Thier policies. If I could give them less than a star I would. I was seriously hurt working for a client of theirs and they are doing the absolute bare minimum while dragging their feet. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Guard Insurance is terrible. They were so bad I cancelled them because them couldn't figure out why I would never get a paper copy of the bill . Verified my address with them and still intermittent billing. I cancelled them in March through my local broker. Today 6/27 I get a letter in the mail from a collections company saying I owe 87.97. This was the first myself or my broker heard of owing this money. Here is some advice for this failure of a company send me a god damn bill and I will pay. Or here's even a better customer service tip, call me and ask me why I haven't paid the bill. Instead, you don't send me any bill, then turn me into to collections. Even better I call to pay my obligations to Brown and Joseph, they transfer me around, no answer. I'm sorry for your staff because they have to tell their friends and family where they work.

This it literally THE WORST home insurance ever! I’ve had an open claim for year and a half I’ve been trying to get closed out. Can NEVER get ahold of the guy dealing with my claim. Always goes to VM. He never returns calls or emails. Always get told my customer service that they with reach out to other team members and supervisors and no one ever answers them. Joe’s line goes right to vm even for part of the team. So much more to tell. This insurance is a joke!! Don’t recommend getting involved with them!

Carried liability and work comp with these people. Never made a claim and they gleaned a fortune out of me because the law requires contractors insured. Shop around!

Worst experience with an insurance company ever. They use a third party company to handle claims and the whole process was awful. It took them 6 months to process a small claim for water damage. Refused to provide a breakdown on how they calculated the damages. I just took the loss and will be canceling at Policy end date.

Extremely bad service, when you call , will make you wait on the phone for ever (over an Hour) and still no one to answer , so you end up hanging up. To cancel the policy, bounce you from one department to the other. They are supposed to refund from the date other insurance started and after sending the proof of other insurance policy, still they did not refund based on that actual date instead they use the date i managed to get hold of them. They charged me $7000.00 for a year's insurance on my Ford F150 truck and I got for $3000.00 with Farmers insurance with personalized service. Don't get fooled by Berkshire Hathaway's name.

Worst insurance comapny I have ever dealt with. A commercial vehicle represented by GUARD t boned my wife and daughters family vehicle in the middle of the day. Driver was cited and insurance claim insued. Fast forward 4 months and refusal of full amount of claim is still happening. Driver was found guilty, repairs started on my vehicle and when it comes to the final bill and diminished value we cannot get any help. I am out a family car, have an injured and traumatized wife and children, and now have to get legal and BBB involved for a company to do the RIGHT thing. Scott Lewis, Kevin Ware, Heather White, and Ryan P, lied about communcation on my claim, demonstrated Bias by overpromising and under delivering . They refused to pay the full amount owed and have associates untrained in vehicle condition assessment and reconditioning. Also, not one GUARD insurance representative has contacted my wife (the injured party) in 4 months to follow up on medical treatment. STAY AWAY IF YOU ARE SHOPPING INSURANCE!

I recently filed a claim with this company and it has been almost a month with no follow-up. My claim representative is Moyra Dieso and I have left multiple voicemails, sent many emails, and called numerous times and no one is available to help me. At this point I don't know the status and the company doing repairs has no idea as to what is going on or taking to long. The customer service is just unacceptable. When I have reached a person to help they let me know that I need to speak to Moyra and no one else has any information. I guess they must have paper files and no one has access to my account to give me updates. If you can't return calls to claimants in a timely manner, you probably should be looking for work outside of customer service.

Had general liability and workers comp with amguard. Paid high premiums and yet still got audited every year and had to pay more. Was able to prove less risk the first two audits and disputed price down but none the less had to pay more just so I could renew coverage. Third time the audit ( based on what I paid my premium on ) was ridiculous and tried to prove that there was no increase in risk from what I paid for my premium. However they would not believe it and required I paid full audit amount in order to have redline removed. Basically you do what they say and pay whatever outlandish bill they come up with or they will make sure you can’t run your business anymore. ????

I am not one to write reviews but honesty this company has given me many sleepless nights worrying about having insurance. last night was one of them. I always thought that having insurance was supposed to help you sleep well. I was canceled on my home and business policies in 2022 not because of claims, which i have not made any claims in decades but due to red lining. My home and business are in a wooded areas and I guess they were afraid there would be a loss. There is NO loyalty with this company. I hope that what they are doing to people will catch up with them some day. ps a 0 rating is what they deserve.

I signed up with this company through an employer and the rates were fair, however it was convenient to sign up but lo and behold don’t ever have any problems with this company because if you do the claim time response and communication from this company is completely ridiculous. I’ve been driving over 30 years and I’ve never seen the insurance company this unprofessional and short on communication like this company. It’s been close to 90 days and they still haven’t paid out on my claim keep in mind it’s only $1500 I’m waiting on. Vehicle that was damaged in a 1 mph accident is a service vehicle that I’ll make a living in and they don’t seem to care. I’m completely conflicted and baffled that this place does business this way. I pray that no one else has to be in my position with this company.????????

The worst insurance company do not ever use them. My claim was filed in February when there was a national disaster declared for tx. 10 months later they have barely done anything. I rarely talk to an adjustor when I call, they frequently "lose" emailed documents, no one knows what is going on with my claim and I usually have to wait AT LEAST 30 mins before anyone will speak to me. Adjustors never call back and they make frequent mistakes with mailing, billing etc. There is not 1 dedicated adjustor I can call and when I do talk to someone it is from customer service and they have me on hold endlessly to speak to an adjustor who doesn't know what is going on, promises to check in and call back, but never does. Filing a complaint with TDI.

I am so glad I will be moving to a different company today. All my family members had moved after we had a flood. They are the worst company ever. All the insurance companies in my area got their claim approved except the people that had Berkshire guard. They are the most nastiest disgusting insurance company. This is other than the customer service. They never call you back. Please do not get yourself into this company. I had a policy for flood and sweet backup. And I still got denied and had over 30,000 of damage. They are the worst.

I had a wind and hail claim and called the claims department. They transferred me to a claims subcontractor who kept giving me runaround. They kept telling me the hail damage was not widespread enough to justify payment over what my deductible was. But the roofer told me it was and provided pictures as proof. I don't think this is a legitimate insurance company. They just sub everything out. Everyone passes the buck. No accountability in anyone to do a job. I dropped them and reshopped for a more reputable insurer.

I own a business and filed a claim because one of our commercial vehicles was damaged. They promised to send a professional to estimate the damage caused to the car but never came or got in touch! I’ve tried to contact them recently yet there is no answer! There are better companies out there

Purchased Workers Compensation Insurance through one of Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies agents. According to the payroll info, they were supposed to collect a monthly premium. Despite the fact that my business did not have any employees throughout the coverage period, they collected almost $60 from the payroll. Decided to cancel the policy, yet we received a payment request for almost $2,800 one year later. A workers comp insurance policy from legitimate insurers never exceeds $500 per year. Absolute rip off.

Don't dare using GUARD for your home insurance, you eventually only pay, but when it comes to paying out your claims, they then make your life so difficult, sourcing claims processing to NARS, North American Risk Services. Worst customer service, never answering emails or voicemails. Stay away unless you want to lose money!
