Berkshire Hathaway Health Insurance is good and their a decent company, however their costs are too high. Our health insurance policy is paid lump sum and by the end of the policy period after 12 months we had to pay $91 on top of it, which felt a bit greedy for us. They weren't too tolerant of our complaints about this either. Now, with zero claims from our end they massively raised our annual premium rate with no reason. Looking for better options here.

I rarely post reviews but am doing so in hopes to help others from experiencing similar negative experience in this case. We purchased travel insurance and had to cancel due to a family emergency. When filing a claim to get refund, the process with Berkshire took well over two months with several emails and phone calls. The emails result in an automated response of 15 days and the phone number is a general customer service reps. that did not provide any substantial status information. In addition to complying with the forms Berkshire sent to be completed by medical professionals to confirm the emergency, Berkshire then further requested additional (what can be considered HIPAA information) beyond what was already sent and confirmed by medical professionals on their own/Berkshire forms. This also taxed medical staff. The refunds were piecemealed and one of the checks held incongruent amount to the words written out which caused issues for bank. I read employee reviews that the company held old values and what struck me is that others received refunds sooner due to what can seem to be questionable factors. We don't plan to use or work with this company in the future due to this experience.
